LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday for making threats to several schools in Lancaster County.
The teen admitted responsibility for threats to Lampeter-Strasburg High School, Conestoga Valley High School, Smoketown Elementary School, and McCaskey High School between Sept. 10-15, according to a news release from District Attorney Craig Stedman’s office.
The teen is charged as a juvenile with making terroristic threats, causing false alarm, and making threats to use weapons of mass destruction.
Authorities said the bomb and active shooter threats involved claims to harm children and police officers. The threats were made through a tip line for the county’s 911 center.
Police believe the teen acted alone, and they don’t think he had the means to carry out his threats.
He is not charged in recent threats to the Donegal, Ephrata, and Cocalico school districts. Police have made arrested others for those incidents.
