Woman accused of endangering child while fleeing police

EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Mountville woman was charged with child endangerment after police say she led an officer on a pursuit with her 1-year-old daughter in the car.

Manheim Township police said they stopped 29-year-old Danielle Zeigler late Thursday for driving at a high rate of speed in the 1500 block Graystone Road.

She pulled into a private driveway, gave the officer a false name, then drove over ornamental lights and through a yard when the officer returned to his patrol car to check her information, police said in a news release.

Police said Zeigler fled at a high rate of speed and drove through a steady red light before she was stopped and arrested on Fruitville Pike at Granite Run Drive.

She is charged with fleeing and eluding, endangering the welfare of children, false identification to law enforcement, speeding, driving under suspension, and summary traffic violations.

The child was released to her father.
