Police: Lancaster woman awoke to burglar in room

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say they made a quick arrest in a home burglary where a city woman awoke to find the stranger in her room.

Lee M. Gilbert, 33, no permanent address, is accused of entering an apartment in the first block of North West End Avenue Friday morning.

Police said he ran off when the woman awoke, and he was able to get away with computer items and car keys, but responding officers found him in the 300 block of Race Avenue.

Gilbert was identified as the man who was inside the victim’s bedroom, and all of the stolen items were recovered, police said.

He was arrested and charged with burglary and theft.
