In-home caregiver waives hearing on theft charges

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman hired as an in-home caregiver is headed to court on allegations she stole from an Upper Allen Township home.

Charisse L. Banks, 42, of Harrisburg, waived her preliminary hearing Thursday. and allowed charges against her to proceed to Cumberland County court  She is charged with forgery and theft by unlawful taking.

Township police said Banks stole a check from a home in the 2800 block of Myrtle Drive and cashed it.

A formal arraignment is scheduled Nov. 19.
