A York County school teacher has been charged for possessing and distributing child pornography, according to the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office.
Brandon Thomas Deck, 27, of Upper Allen Township, was arrested Friday and charged with six counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
The charges stem from an online investigation that led agents into Deck’s home on the 100 block of Melbourne Lane. There they discovered several child pornography files on multiple computer devices.
In an email sent by the Northern York County School District, parents were notified that Deck was arrested and had been immediately placed on administrative leave.
School officials say there is no evidence that any misconduct occurred on school grounds or with any students in the district.
Deck was committed to Cumberland County Prison but has since been released after posting $10,000 bail.
In a released statement, school officials said they are fully cooperating with investigators.
Deck’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 18.
