Police: Parents to turn in teens who ransacked Harrisburg store

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Parents are promising to turn in the teenagers who ransacked a convenience store after the city’s Kipona festival.

Surveillance video obtained by ABC 27 News shows the group of teens throwing and stealing merchandise at the store near N. 2nd and Verbeke streets Saturday night.

Chief Tom Carter said after the video aired on television, he and his officers began receiving phone calls from the parents of those responsible.

“These parents have stepped up,” Carter said. “They’re not going to put up with this sort of behavior, and they’re making telephone calls to us.”

The store owner told ABC 27 the teens caused $200 to $300 in damage.

Carter said the teens responsible will face charges.
