Man headed to trial for pointing gun at lost couple

SPRING GROVE, Pa. (WHTM) – A York County man is headed to trial for pointing a shotgun at a couple who stopped near his home when they became lost.

Mark Lessig, 56, of Heidelberg Township, was ordered to county court Wednesday on two counts each of simple assault and harassment.

The couple were trying to find an address July 5 when they stopped near Lessig’s driveway in the 1100 block of Wildasin Drive. The couple told police that they feared for their lives when Lessig walked down his driveway, pointed a shotgun at them, and told them that they needed to leave.

Police said the victims were legally parked just off the road surface and a distance from Lessig’s home when the assault occurred.
