Father, son robbed of bicycle at gunpoint in Penbrook

PENBROOK, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are looking for a man who robbed a father and his young son of a children’s bicycle at gunpoint Tuesday night.

The victim told police he was pushing the bicycle in the 2700 block of Ella Street when the stranger first asked to use his cell phone at around 9:15 p.m. He said he repeatedly refused to hand over the phone, and the man then tried to grab the bicycle from him.

During a struggle for the bike, he said the man pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at him. He told police he fled to his house as soon as he saw the gun.

The robber was described as a 5’7″ black male wearing a gray hat, sky blue t-shirt and jeans. He had a tattoo of the Virgin Mary on his left arm and a crucifix on the inside of his left forearm.

The stolen bicycle is a red 20-inch made by Next.
