Democratic lawmakers remove music video from website

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania House Democrats have removed from their website a music video of several representatives doing the Nae Nae dance.

A caucus spokesman said the video was removed out of an abundance of caution on the question of music rights.

The video was paid for by Rep. Patty Kim (D-Dauphin) to bring attention to Democrats’ desire for a severance tax on Marcellus Shale drillers. Democrats and Governor Tom Wolf want to use the severance tax for public school funding.

Kim says she spent $1,000 of campaign money to produce the video.
