Red Land and Japan exchange back-to-back home runs in Japan’s LLWS win

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WHTM) – A sea of red roared as Red Land scored 10 runs in the first inning of the Little League World Series Championship game.

The team faced Japan in a game that seemed more like a home run derby.

Red Land led Japan 10-2 early in the game, however, it wasn’t long before Japan answered with back-to-back-to-back homeruns. Japan went on to score an 18-11 victory over Red Land.

Here’s inning by inning coverage of Sunday’s game:

Top 1st

Chayton Kraus is on the pitcher’s mound for Red Land.

Japan hits a line drive to center field. Two of their players score. They lead 2-0 with 1 out in the inning.

Big double play for Red Land. We’re headed to the bottom of the 1st inning. Japan leads 2-0.

Bottom 1st

Red Land up at bat. Japan’s pitcher hasn’t walked anyone in the Little League World Series.

Red Land gets a base hit to 1st. Cole Wagner up at bat.

Red Land has the bases loaded. 0 outs in the bottom of the first inning. Japan leads 2-0.

Braden Kolmansberger scores for Red Land. Score is now 2-1, Japan.

Red Land gets another run! 0 outs in the bottom of the first. Game tied 2-2.

Japan makes a pitching change.

Bases are loaded. Dylan Rodenhaber hits a grand slam for Red Land! They lead 7-2 in the bottom of the 1st.

Red Land has a player at first and third base. 2 outs in the inning.

Jaden Henline hits a HOME RUN!!! Red Land leads 10-2.

Top 2nd

Japan has a runner on first and second base.
