Police respond to an attempted homicide at a house fire

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania State Police responded to an attempted homicide and house fire this morning.

36-year-old Christopher Rhone set a fire to 85-year-old June Rhone’s house while she was asleep.

The fire occurred along Mountain Drive in Guilford Township.

There were several fire departments there to help battle the fire.

Charges for attempted homicide are being filed.

A police incident occurred during the fire where the man was injured and airlifted to the York Hospital with severe injuries.

The cause of his injuries is not being released at this time.

The woman, her dog and the firefighters were not harmed.
