WILLIAMSPORT, Pa (WHTM) – The Red Land Little League team pulled out of Williamsport around 8:15 p.m., according to a coach. The team bus was escorted by various emergency crews during the trip back to Red Land High School.
Fans hit Twitter posting photos and well wishes. According to ABC27 Sports Director Gregg Mace, fans were lined up along Route 11/15 and had signs on bypasses.
The team was greeted by fire trucks at Cedar Cliff High School and paraded through town on their way to Red Land High School.
Officers, fire and EMS agencies lead the team to Bridge Street and through the borough of New Cumberland and later through Fairview Township and into Newberry Township.
The team then turned onto Lewisberry road near the team’s home field and up Route 177 into the Borough of Lewisberry. The escort ended at Red Land High School, where the team was welcomed by local officials.
All residents and fans came out and cheered for the team along the route. Red Land High School was also opened to all.
