WILLIAMSPORT, Pa — (WHTM) Pennsylvania’s Red Land Little League took on South Carolina in the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
Red Land’s Jaden Henline saves the night for Pennsylvania with a walk-off double to win in a wild comeback fashion in Williamsport. After letting up the lead in the top of the sixth inning, Pennsylvania trailed 8-6 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. After loading the bases, Henline smacked a line drive down the left field foul line to bring in the winning run.
The rest of Red Land pounced on Henline in celebration. Red Land will play Texas on Wednesday.
TOP 6: South Carolina surges past Pennsylvania by grabbing four runs in the top half of the final inning to take the lead 8-6.
BOTTOM 5: Pennsylvania hits into a double play to end the inning. Red Land has not scored in three consecutive innings. Cole Wagner is out of the game due to high pitch count. Pennsylvania still has a two-run lead heading into the final inning 6-4.
TOP 5: Wagner gets out of a jam and records his 10th strikeout on the night on a 3-2 full count with 2 outs and the tying run at the plate against South Carolina’s big bat. Red Land is winning 6-4 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning.
END 4: Pennsylvania bats remain quiet as South Carolina struck out two batters in the inning. Red Land still has a two-run lead up 6-4 heading into the fifth inning.
TOP 4: South Carolina exploded on the board this inning by grabbing four runs. SC hit a three-run homer to tighten the gap against Pennsylvania trailing only by two run 6-4. Wagner recorded his eight strikeout of the game in this inning.
END 3: South Carolina rendered Pennsylvania bats quiet by striking out the side. Red Land remains in the lead up 6-0 over SC.
TOP 3: Cole Wanger records his fifth strikeout of the game to end the top of the third inning. The shutout remains in tact as Pennsylvania has a 6-0 lead over South Carolina.
END 2: Pennsylvania takes a strong lead early and remains up 6-0 over South Carolina. More than 30,000 fans are watching in Williamsport. If Red Land wins, they will play in the U.S. championship game.
BOTTOM 2: Pennsylvania’s Chayton Krauss hits a long single down the right field line and brings in a runner to stretch the lead to 6-0 over South Carolina. SC made its second pitching change of the night after Krauss’ hit.
END 1: Pennsylvania tacks on one more run to take a 5-0 lead over SC.
BOTTOM 1: Pennsylvania takes an early 4-0 lead over South Carolina. Red Land’s Ethan Phillips racked up three RBI’s with a double, but left the game with a leg injury on the play.
