Man recovering from shooting in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – According to the Lancaster City Police Department, a man was shot in the arm and chest this morning.

It happened in the 100 block of North Shippen St. around 2:20 a.m.

Police said officers located Santos Maldonado, 22, with a gunshot wound to his arm and chest. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Garrett Wright, 22, of Lancaster was taken in for questioning and was subsequently arrested and charged with simple assault and possession of an illegal gun. Maldonado is also being charged with simple assault and remains hospitalized.

The investigation is ongoing.
