Judge says Kane did not file request for release of porn emails

Judge William Carpenter (R), Attorney General Kathleen Kane (D)

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane made her first public appearance Wednesday since criminal charges were filed against her last week.

She called on Montgomery County Judge William Carpenter to authorize the release of emails which she says contain pornographic, racially insensitive, and religiously offensive material.

Carpenter has since issued a statement. He stated the attorney general has yet to file any petition, pleading, motion or other request for court action. He also said the emails were never introduced into evidence to the grand jury.

Kane is accused of intentionally leaking secret grand jury information and then lying about it under oath.

She has repeatedly stated that she has no intention to resign, despite growing pressure from Governor Wolf and other democrats.
