Fans gather to support Midstate Little League team’s quest to make World Series

ETTERS, Pa. (WHTM) – Hogan’s Bar & Grill in York County played host to a little league baseball watch party.

Nearly 100 people watched the Red Land Little League team play the champions from New York on ESPN.

General Manager John Hicks spent several hours making sure that the game could be watched in all the rooms.

Many former Red Land Little League players attended Tuesday’s party.

Ben Snyder says watching the current team play, takes him back to a special time in his baseball career. “It kind of brings back memories,” said Snyder, “Getting all the media and press behind you, along with the community, is pretty cool.”

Matthew Shope played Little League with Snyder, he says the current team has created a buzz. “Watching them and knowing I wore the same jersey,” said Shope, “I am very proud of them, and I hope they can make it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport.”

Red Land won on Tuesday, 11-3 in Bristol, Connecticut. They will face the team from New Jersey on Thursday.
