Manor Township police warn residents of Green Dot card scams

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say a Manor Township woman lost $2,000 in a scam involving Green Dot money cards.

According to the complaint, a 56-year-old woman used four $500 Green Dot Visa cards to purchase a trailer from a seller on EBAY.

When the card information was sent, the seller asked for another $1,000 to cover additional fees. That’s when the woman became suspicious and realized the website was an imposter.

Police are reminding the public that they should never send money to people they do not know.

Green Dot Cards are used like cash making transactions untraceable.
