HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg man told police he almost ran over a probation officer because he was under the influence of marijuana.
Garrett Hill, 41, has been charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and driving while operators privilege suspended.
Police say he nearly ran a probation officer over when he was asked to roll down his car window Thursday morning near N. 18th and Boas Streets.
The probation officer pushed away from the vehicle to prevent being ran over, police said. Minor injuries were suffered as a result.
Police detained Hill at a home on the 1800 block of Boas Street just a short time later.
Hill confessed he was smoking marijuana when officers had approached his vehicle and that’s why he drove off.
His license was suspended. There’s no word if Hill will face time behind bars.
