Man injured in shooting at Harrisburg rooming house

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are investigating a shooting that injured a man in a rooming house in the 400 block of Hale Avenue.

The 29-year-old man was shot in the shoulder just before 5 a.m. Thursday, police said in a news release.

He was taken to a hospital for surgery and is expected to recover.

He told police that he woke up and found three males in his room. He said they pistol whipped him and demanded his valuables before one of them shot him with a handgun.

Witnesses in the rooming house told officers they heard a loud commotion. When they went to investigate, they saw a man walk out of the room carrying a rifle in his hands.

He was described as 5’9″ tall, 160-170 pounds, and wearing black clothing.
