HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Two people taken into custody after a pair of men fired shots at soldiers at a military facility have been question and released, according to reports.
WHLT-TV reported police are still looking for the men who fired shots Tuesday at some Camp Shelby soldiers.
The Mississippi National Guard confirmed soldiers reported shots fired during a training exercise. No service members were hurt.
The Guard said in a news release Tuesday that the Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center is secure and all personnel accounted for. The news release says the shots were fired from a road near Camp Shelby, but not on the military post’s property.
Officials were looking for two men traveling in a red Ford Ranger with the words “Broken Arrow” written across the top. The pair allegedly fired from the vehicle and fled.
