UPDATE (8:15 a.m.) – The York County coroner has identified the woman’s body found Tuesday night.
The coroner says the body of 60-year-old Jeannie Stokes was found in a creek off Camp Betty Washington Road in York Township.
Stokes lived on that road. An autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A female was found dead in a creek in York County Tuesday night.
The chief deputy coroner was called at about 9:10 p.m. to the 1900 block of Camp Betty Washington Road in York Township, where the body was in a creek that runs along the roadway.
The female was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Coroner’s Office. Her name has not been released, but the coroner said she was a resident of the area.
An autopsy is scheduled at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
