Police said Quincie Brown entered the home in the 1800 block of Mulberry Street and was confronted by the owner, who fired at least one shot.

Brown was stuck by the gunfire and was found dead in the roadway when officers arrived on the scene at 1:30 a.m.

Police said the home owner, 54-year-old Robert Kimble, was taken into custody on drug and firearms charges. He is not allowed to have a gun because of a prior criminal conviction.

The Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office will determine if the shooting was justified.

Authorities said a large amount of money was found in the home. They believe the cash and drugs motivated Brown and an accomplice to forcibly enter the home after another man – not Kimble – answered the door.

Investigators have not identified the second intruder.

Police said Brown did not have any weapons or drugs on him, and it is unknown whether he had a weapon when he entered the home.
