UPDATE (10:01 a.m.) – Officials say 22/322 is clear — but expect residual delays in the area.
UPDATE (7:36 a.m.) – The eastbound lanes of 22/322 are once again closed as crews repair damaged guardrail.
Many people are using the detour route — 11/15 — which is causing major backups in northern Dauphin County.
PennDOT says the roadway will be shut down until 9 a.m.
Officials with DEP were called to the scene because two to three gallons of oil were thought to have entered a storm drain that empties into the Susquehanna River. Officials say the spill was contained and did not contaminate the water.
UPDATE (6:44 a.m.) – According to officials, one lane eastbound and westbound is open. The eastbound lane that is closed will remain closed for around two hours.
UPDATE (6:07 a.m.) – PennDOT says 22/322 east should reopen around 6:45 a.m. The tractor-trailer has been removed from the scene.
UPDATE (5:02 a.m.) – Crews have removed the overturned tractor-trailer from eastbound lanes however the eastbound lanes remain closed.
UPDATE (4:36 a.m.) – Crews have flipped the tractor-trailer. All eastbound lanes remain closed.
Crews are on the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer crash in Dauphin County.
It happened around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Officials say a tractor-trailer is blocking the eastbound lanes of 22/322 which has the highway closed from the Halifax exit to the Front Street/Fishing Creek exit.
Westbound lanes are restricted from Fishing Creek to Halifax.
Dispatchers say no injuries were reported.
The crash is causing major backlogs on both east and westbound lanes. No word on when the lanes will reopen.
