Live-fire exercises to begin Sunday at Fort Indiantown Gap

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. (WHTM) – People who live near Fort Indiantown Gap may notice increased noise during live-fire exercises beginning this weekend.

The military training facility is scheduled to host 155 mm artillery exercises between Sunday and Wednesday.

Fort Indiantown Gap is the only live-fire, maneuver military training facility in Pennsylvania.Training that is expected to result in increased noise levels is announced as a courtesy to nearby residents.

To minimize disruption in neighboring communities, firing is routinely scheduled to begin no sooner than 8 a.m. each morning and end no later than 11 p.m. each night.
