Georgia man pleads guilty to scamming Adams County investors

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Georgia man is facing up to 42 years in prison for carrying out an investment scam in Adams County.

Jorge Salazar, 57, pleaded guilty to wire fraud, money laundering and aggravated theft charges Wednesday in Harrisburg.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Salazar cashed in about $360,000 in a fraudulent investment scheme he carried out from 2012 to 2014.

Salazar’s shady deals with investors were discovered following an investigation by the FBI, IRS, and Pennsylvania State Police.

In addition to time in prison, Salazar faces probation and a $750,000 fine.

Salazar has not yet been sentenced.
