Author Spotlight: Necessary Rules for Children in PA Dutch Country

Necessary Rules for Children in Pennsylvania Dutch Country is a book based on a magazine article written in 1764 by Mennonite Schoolmaster Christopher Dock. Dock wrote one hundred Rules for children to follow at home, at school, and out on the street. The rules were originally written in German, and are noteworthy for being our first written document on the subject of etiquette written in the colonies.
