DILLSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs says a Dillsburg veteran cannot be buried at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
The department has turned down a request for interment from the family of Arthur Guise.
Carroll Township police say the 31-year-old Guise on July 2 shot and killed 33-year-old Sharon Williams of Mount Holly Springs on an outdoor deck at Flapjack’s Pub before fatally shooting himself.
Veterans Affairs does not allow veterans convicted of murder to be buried at national cemeteries. Because Guise was not convicted, the VA had to rule ont the family’s request.
The department said Guise cannot be buried in any federal cemetery.
