PennDOT project will impact 3,500 drivers daily in Cumberland County

Crews will begin work on a seven-mile stretch of U.S. 11 in Cumberland County on Monday.

The roadway base repair work on U.S. 11 starts at the intersection with Foltz Road in Southampton Township and ends just west of Route 233 in western Cumberland County.

During the work, drivers may encounter single-lane traffic restrictions.

The work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

PennDOT says this project is necessary before a bituminous resurfacing in August.

Some sections of U.S. 11, known locally as Ritner Highway, average more than 3,500 vehicles traveled daily.

To avoid delays, seek alternative routes.
