Hanover man arrested after burning Confederate flag

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Police arrested a Hanover man after surveillance video captured him burning a Confederate flag.

Mathew M. Becker, 48, is facing arson-related offenses, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct charges.

Surveillance footage showed Becker setting fire to a Confederate flag Friday morning outside of a convenience store on the 100 block of Carlisle Street. The flag was mounted on a parked vehicle.

Police used the video to identify Becker and make an arrest later on Wednesday.
