People rescued from ride at Shippensburg Fair

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Firefighters rescued eight people from a ride at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds Tuesday night after a power issue caused the ride to shut down.

Firefighters say the “Zipper” ride stopped working around 9:30 p.m., trapping eight people for more than an hour.

No one was hurt.

A state inspector is expected to go to the Shippensburg Fairgrounds early Wednesday morning to look at the mechanical and electrical parts of the ride.

The Shippensburg Community Fair runs through Saturday.
