Route 11 work near Carlisle to begin this week

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Construction crews plan to begin nighttime repairs on nearly three miles of Route 11 this week.

Weather permitting, the work from the intersection of North Hanover and Penn streets in Carlisle to just north of the Turnpike bridge construction project over Harrisburg Pike in Middlesex Township will begin Thursday night, according to a PennDOT news release.

The $1.7 million project includes base repair and repaving, as well as curb cut work, drainage improvements, guiderail updates, new signs, and pavement markings.

Drivers may encounter shifting traffic patterns and single-lane traffic restrictions Sundays through Thursdays between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The work is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
