Route 22/322 reopens after tractor-trailer crash, fire

DAUPHIN, Pa. (WHTM) – Route 22/322 has reopened in Middle Paxton Township after a crash where a tractor-trailer overturned and caught fire early Monday while hauling live chickens.

The eastbound lanes reopened after 1 p.m., according to PennDOT.

All eastbound and westbound lanes were closed after the crash at 6 a.m., slowing the morning commute on 22/322 and 11/15.

The westbound lanes reopened in the morning.

Investigators said the driver, 37-year-old Chester Bowser of Ellendale, Delaware, left the roadway in a curve and struck a concrete wall on the right shoulder, causing the truck to overturn and catch fire.

No one was injured.
