HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Former Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed has been indicted by a grand jury.
Sources tell us that Reed will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
It is not known what charges Reed will face, but sources said he is devastated by the indictment.
Those close to the investigation tell abc27’s Dave Marcheskie that this is “bigger than Reed.”
Reed was mayor from 1982 to 2010.
During that time, the city fell into a 300-million dollar debt.
Reed has been under investigation for questionable financial dealings.
In June, agents from the Attorney General’s office raided his home, seizing truck-loads of potential evidence.
Reed has revealed he has stage 4 prostate cancer.
The Attorney General’s office is expected to address this Tuesday.
