HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say an argument led to a fatal shooting in the city early Sunday.
Shawn Walker, 49, is wanted on criminal homicide and gun charges in the killing of 44-year-old Eric Rivers at a home in the 400 block of Crescent Street.
Police said an argument between Walker’s family and Rivers escalated before Walker shot Rivers on a porch at around 1:23 a.m.
Investigators did not say what the argument was about, but Sgt. Gabriel Olivera described the scene as emotional and standoffish.
“We’re here to help the neighborhood, help the individuals, help the victim’s family because they are looking for closure,” Olivera said at a police briefing Monday. “Imagine if this was someone in your family. You’d want the police to do everything they can. The only way we can do that is with the neighborhood helping us.”
Walker fled in a white Chevrolet Malibu. He is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities said he has family in York County.
Anyone with tips on his whereabouts or information on the homicide is asked to call police at 717-255-3154 or 717-255-6531.
