Several dozen Harrisburg residents marched to raise awareness and promote peace on Sunday.
Organizers called it the Thousand Teen and Man March. Although they were not able to meet their attendance goal, organizers said they did succeed in sending a message of peace. Their goal is to reach children and teens and get them to stop the ongoing violence on city streets.
“It’s very important for our youth man that we change these lives, change their lives, their understanding about what they are doing in the streets,” said supporter Anthony Burnett.
Sunday’s rally started in Reservoir Park and was followed by an hour of marching through the streets of Harrisburg.
