Escapee David Sweat moved from hospital to prison

(CNN) – According to CNN, escaped inmate David Sweat has been transported from Albany Medical Center to the maximum-security- Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus, New York.

The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision issued a statement that Sweat was released from the hospital just after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, and brought to Five Points facility.

Sweat will be placed on active suicide watch and housed in a single cell within the facility.

The Five Points facility, which opened in 2000, is a much newer prison than Clinton Correctional Facility, where Sweat was housed before he escaped.

Sweat was one of two men who escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York on June 6. He was captured and wounded by law enforcement after 22 days on the run.
