Police: Man intentionally drove family into tree in Lebanon

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) – A father is behind bars after he deliberately caused his family to crash into a tree, police said.

Officers responded just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 500-block of N. 12th Street.

According to investigators, Debra Gentile, 27, was giving her ex-husband, Raymond Gentile, 28, a ride.
Their two children, ages 5 and 6, were in the backseat of the car; not in booster seats or seat belts.

During an argument, Raymond grabbed the steering wheel, intentionally causing the car to travel across a traffic lane and into a tree, police said.

Debra and the two children were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Police charged Raymond Gentile with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering and endangering the welfare of children.

He was arraigned and placed in Lebanon County Prison on $60,000 bail.

Police charged Debra with restraint systems violations for not properly securing her two children.
