Wanted Harrisburg man arrested for hammer attack

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man wanted for beating a woman with a hammer has been arrested in York.

Frederick Owens, 27, was taken into custody Monday by the Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, according to U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane.

Owens is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other offenses in the June 16 assault. Authorities said he got into a fight with the woman and beat her with the hammer, his closed fists, and other items.

The victim sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said she identified Owens as her attacker.
