HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Federal prosecutors have filed charges against a New Jersey man who’s accused of robbing 14 banks and two businesses, including four heists in Lancaster and York counties and 10 others five states.
Francis Simmons, 41, is charged for robberies in Columbia, Dillsburg, Hanover, and Lancaster, according to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith.
Authorities said Simmons also committed robberies in Allentown, Fogelsville, Hellertown, Lewisburg, Tannersville, and Wyomissing and in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina.
All of the robberies occurred between Nov. 6, 2013 and Nov. 29, 2014.
Investigators had previously linked robberies at the Union Community Bank in Columbia on April 4, 2014, the Fulton Bank branch in Dillsburg on January 23, 2014, and an attempted heist at the Fulton Bank at 528 Greenfield Road in Lancaster on March 24, 2014.
