HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Food manufacturers now have three years to remove trans fat from their products.
Doctors say trans fat raises bad cholesterol and lowers the good, as well as contributes to 20,000 heart attacks and 7,000 deaths a year.
Trans fat can be found in fast food, microwave popcorn, and baked goods.
Manufacturers like artificial trans fats because they taste good and give food a longer shelf life.
