LEMOYNE, Pa. (WHTM) – Construction work will not close the Route 581 bridge over 10th Street this weekend.
Road crews had planned to close the westbound lanes between Saturday morning and early Monday, but the work has been postponed because of rain in the forecast, according to a PennDOT news release.
The closure has been rescheduled to June 27-29.
Workers need to close the westbound lanes two additional weekends to wrap up work on the new bridge deck.
The new bridge has shallower steel girders that raise the clearance on 10th Street from 13 feet, 11 inches to 14 feet, 7.5 inches. It replaced a bridge built in 1958.
The $22.1 million project is scheduled for completion this summer.
