HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police were called to a home for a possible drowning of an 18-month girl.
It happened Saturday afternoon at a home on Oriole Court in Swatara Township.
According to Chief Jason Umberger, emergency treatment was provided on scene and an 18-month child was transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.
Neighbors say emergency crews arrived around 1 p.m. shortly after they heard what sounded like a gut-wrenching scream from the child’s mother.
“When something like that in the middle of the day happens you can understand that something was wrong,” said neighbor Paul Levin. “Everybody came in so fast the whole street was crowded.”
Crews were reportedly lined up and down the street; a little girl was seen carried away on a stretcher.
The condition of the child is unknown.
