SALUNGA, Pa. (WHTM) – A horse was trapped in its trailer after a crash Friday in Lancaster County.

The truck pulling the trailer rear ended another vehicle and veered off the road at Main Street and Prospect Road, and the horse was trapped when the trailer tipped over, Lancaster County SPCA director Susan Martin said.

The Lancaster SPCA assisted firefighters in freeing the horse. Martin said the animal was taken to a nearby farm and did not appear to be injured, but would be checked out by a veterinarian.

The driver of the truck hauling the horse was taken to a hospital, Martin said. His condition is unknown.
