York man indicted on child sexual assault, pornography charges

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A federal grand jury has indicted a York man on charges he enticed a teenage boy to engage in sexual activity.

Gabriel Palmer, 21, is accused of sexually assaulting the teen and using child pornography to coerce him into the sexual activity between 2013 and 2015, U.S. Attorney Peter Smith said.

The grand jury also indicted him for distribution and receipt of child pornography.

Palmer was arrested in March after police in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County said he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy and exchanged images of young boys in sexually explicit acts.

Smith said the maximum penalty under federal law for the offenses is 20 years in prison, supervised release, and a $500,000 fine.
