Man shot during robbery in York

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A York man was shot in the leg during a reported robbery in the city early Monday.

Shane Miller, 43, and Hugh Cowdin, 31, also of York, told officers they were approached in the 300 block of West Mason Avenue by a man who pointed a gun at them and demanded money, police said in a news release.

When they refused, they said the gunman fired a shot that struck Miller in the right shin.

The shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m.

Miller and Cowdin fled to the 300 block of West Market and flagged down a police officer.

Miller was transported York Hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.
