HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Memorial Day ceremony in Riverfront Park honored the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
The Patrick Wm. Milano detachment of the Marine Corps League and the Marine Riders PA continued a 46-year tradition of placing a wreath in the Susquehanna River.
The service included a color guard by the Young Marines of Central Pennsylvania and the playing of “Taps.”
Corporal Patrick William Milano, a Harrisburg resident for whom the detachment is named, was killed in action while serving with the 1st Marine Division in World War II.
