Dog killed by shooting in Shrewsbury

SHREWSBURY, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are investigating a shooting that killed a dog at its York County home.

Southern Regional police said the 10-month-old husky and German shepherd-mix was shot outside a home on Culpepper Drive in Shrewsbury at around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

A 15-year-old family member was home alone and left two dogs outside before hearing a gunshot a short time later. Both dogs were at the back door and the 10-month-old was bleeding, police said in a news release Wednesday.

A neighbor helped the teen get the dog to a veterinary office where it died from the wound, police said.

Anyone with information should call Southern Regional police at 717-235-3944.
