Route 11 reopens after truck fire near Carlisle

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) – A section of Route 11 in Middlesex Township has reopened after a tractor-trailer fire that closed the highway in both directions Friday morning.

Route 11 was closed northbound and southbound between Middlesex Road and Country Club Road. The highway reopened before 10 a.m.

The fire was near the Petro stopping center in the 1100 block of Route 11, locally known as Harrisburg Pike.

The fire also impacting traffic exiting Interstate 81 at Middlesex and on the Pennsyvania Turnpike exit 226.
