Cumberland Perry Vo-tech holding free career camp

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School is offering a free two-day career camp this summer.

Campers will get hands on experience in six programs.

“Anything from diesel, precision machinery, cosmetology and everything in between,” assistant principal Frank Flamini said.

This is the first time the camp has been offered at CPAVTS and it’s open to current 6th and 7th graders. Priority will be given to students in the Big Spring, Camp Hill, Cumberland Valley, East Pennsboro, Greenwood, Newport, Mechanicsburg, Northern York, South Middleton, Susquenita, West Perry, West Shore, and Upper Adams school districts.

“When you are in middle school, you don’t have to decide forever what you want to do with your life, but you do need to know what is out there; what do I like, and what am I good at,” Flamini said.

The free career camp will be held at CPAVTS on June 11 and 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
