Carlisle School District parents made their concern about class size known Thursday evening.
There are six elementary schools in Carlisle. But parents said they are upset that some classes have up to 31 students each, with only one teacher.
“There needs to be a policy put in place to limit the number of students in our classrooms,” Moreland Elementary PTO President John Deni said. “It’s very clear the evidence shows that this has long-lasting effects, not only on test results, but in non-cognitive outcomes.”
Currently the state allows school districts to make their own class sizes. The Carlisle superintendent said he would not support a cap in class size.
